Expert-led care, delivered personally
Hurdle Health is built around a small, experienced team who value clarity, quality, and long-term outcomes. We take the time to understand each person properly, combining clinical insight with thoughtful coaching to support health, strength, and confidence at every stage.

Founder & Sport Rehabilitator
Ben Lowe
Ben is the founder of Hurdle Health and leads the coaching and performance side of the studio. He holds a BSc in Sport Rehabilitation & Exercise Science and an MSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine, with nine years of postgraduate experience supporting people through injury, deconditioning, and long-term health change.
Across his career, Ben has worked in a wide range of settings — from professional sport and elite rugby environments to the Ministry of Defence, supporting soldiers including Special Forces personnel, with complex trauma, spinal cord injuries and limb loss. He has also worked extensively with people managing persistent pain and long-term conditions such as chronic fatigue, functional movement disorders, and long COVID.
This breadth of experience shapes a calm, structured, and supportive approach to care. Ben is particularly focused on rebuilding confidence, improving metabolic health, and creating training programmes that are realistic, adaptable, and sustainable over time.
Before working in health and performance, Ben competed nationally in swimming, winning gold medals at youth level before placing fourth at British Championships. These days, his competitive energy is more likely to be found in the kitchen, where he has developed a strong interest in cooking across all cuisines.
Ben founded Hurdle Health to make high-quality health, fitness, and rehabilitation support accessible to adults over 40 — without the pressure, noise, or confusion of commercial gyms.

Specialist Physiotherapist
Graham Cooke
Graham is the lead physiotherapist at Hurdle Health, specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and long-term injury management. He holds a BSc in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation and an MSc in Physiotherapy, and is a registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and HCPC.
With over 15 years of experience across the NHS, private healthcare, fitness settings, and the Ministry of Defence, Graham has worked with thousands of patients presenting with a wide range of injuries and conditions. His background spans everything from acute musculoskeletal pain to complex, long-standing issues requiring a more structured and progressive approach to recovery.
Graham has a particular interest in bridging the gap between injury rehabilitation and long-term physical resilience. His approach combines detailed clinical assessment with strength and conditioning principles, helping clients not only recover from injury, but rebuild confidence and return to the activities that matter to them.
He is a strong advocate for integrated, whole-person care. This is reflected in his work co-developing a Combined Physical and Psychological Programme (CPPP) for Dorset CCG, designed to support individuals with more complex and persistent conditions.
At Hurdle Health, Graham works closely with Ben to deliver a seamless transition from rehabilitation into structured training — ensuring that progress continues beyond pain relief and into long-term strength, resilience, and independence.
Outside of the clinic, Graham is a keen kite surfer and lifelong exercise enthusiast. He is committed to practising what he preaches, with a strong focus on maintaining the physical and mental resilience that supports long-term health.
