A smarter, more joined-up approach to long-term health

Hurdle Health was created to bridge the gap between physiotherapy, fitness, and medicine — helping adults over 40 rebuild strength, confidence, and resilience in a way that actually lasts.

Why most people struggle to make progress

Many people do the “right” things — they attend physiotherapy when they’re injured, try to get fitter when they feel out of shape, and make changes when pain or health concerns appear.

But too often, those efforts don’t last.

Physiotherapy ends before confidence returns.

Gym programmes don’t account for pain, injuries, or ageing bodies.

Medical advice highlights risks but doesn’t show you how to move forward safely.

The result is a cycle of:

  • Stopping and starting

  • Avoiding movements “just in case”

  • Losing confidence after setbacks

  • Feeling unsure what’s actually safe or effective

We built Hurdle Health to break that cycle.

Why integration matters

Health, strength, and confidence don’t exist in silos — and neither should your care.

At Hurdle Health, physiotherapy, coaching, and health insight work together rather than in isolation.

This allows us to:

  • Address pain and injury properly

  • Rebuild strength and load tolerance

  • Improve fitness and cardiovascular health

  • Reduce the risk of recurring problems

  • Support long-term independence and quality of life

This integrated approach is particularly important as we get older, when the goal is not just to “fix” problems, but to build resilience for the years ahead.

How our approach works

1 / Assess Properly
We start by understanding the full picture — not just symptoms.

This may include:
  • Physiotherapy assessment
  • Strength and movement testing
  • Cardiovascular fitness (VOâ‚‚max)
  • Body composition and functional measures

This gives us clarity on what’s limiting you and what will help most.
2 / Build capacity, not just comfort
Reducing pain is important — but it’s rarely enough on its own.

We focus on:
  • Progressive strength
  • Movement confidence
  • Load tolerance
  • Conditioning and fitness

So that improvements hold up in real life, not just in the clinic.
3 / Progress with support
Plans are reviewed, adjusted, and progressed as you improve.

You’re supported through:
  • Rehabilitation
  • Return to exercise
  • Ongoing training
  • Long-term health goals

This prevents the “what now?” moment that causes many people to fall back into old patterns.

Who we help most

Our approach works particularly well for adults who:

  • Are over 40 and want to stay strong, active, and independent

  • Are managing pain, injury, or post-surgical recovery

  • Feel unsure about returning to exercise after setbacks

  • Want expert guidance rather than generic advice

  • Value privacy, professionalism, and a calm environment

You don’t need to be an athlete. Most of our clients simply want to feel capable, confident, and in control of their health again.

What we don't do

To be clear, Hurdle Health is not:

  • A busy commercial gym

  • A class-based fitness studio

  • A quick-fix physiotherapy clinic

  • A place for drop-in workouts

We work best with people who are ready to take a thoughtful, structured approach to their health.

How to begin

The first step is always an assessment.

This allows us to understand where you are now and recommend the most appropriate way forward — whether that’s physiotherapy, personal training, or a blend of both.
